My journey & philosophy

Dr. Kishan read medicine at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna, qualifying MBBS in 2018, and completed postgraduate training in otorhinolaryngology at Darbhanga Medical College & Hospital between 2022 and 2025. He was schooled at Indian Public School, Hajipur, and at Shrishti Vidyashram, Vellore.

Thirteen years separate the first day of medical school from the end of specialist training. The practice covers the ear, the nose and the head and neck — three connected regions examined in the same sitting, with the operating microscope and the endoscope as the working instruments.

Ear

Hearing loss, discharge and pain; disease of the middle ear and mastoid; tinnitus; vertigo arising from the labyrinth. Assessment couples otoscopy with tuning-fork tests and audiometry.

Nose & sinuses

Obstruction, discharge and loss of smell; septal deviation; allergic and infective rhinosinusitis; epistaxis. Endoscopy of the nasal cavity is the standard first look.

Tonsillar disease; hoarseness and voice change; swallowing difficulty; airway concerns; thyroid swellings and neck lumps. The larynx is examined by mirror or endoscope; the thyroid by palpation, ultrasound and cytology.

Microlaryngeal surgery (MLS) for laryngeal pathology. Hoarseness that has not settled in three weeks is examined endoscopically before it is treated. Vocal cord nodules, polyps, cysts, papillomata and leukoplakia are excised under the operating microscope with the airway secured, so the lesion is taken and the cord is not.

Audiological Evaluation of Early Noise Induced Hearing Loss in Traffic Police Personnel in a Second Tier City: A Community Based One Year Cross Sectional Study

A one-year cross-sectional study of traffic police personnel, a group exposed to sustained roadside noise through the whole working day. Pure-tone audiometry was used to look for the earliest measurable shift in hearing thresholds — the point at which noise-induced loss is still preventable rather than established.
